Career Coaching

Recent research has showed that 32% of the British workforce is dissatisfied with their work (City & Guilds, 2007). In the U.K., we now work longer hours than in any other country in the developed world. A quarter of the British workforce works 48 hours a week. (United Nations). So therefore we should be enjoying what we do.

In England, particularly in the South East there are so many options. Careers nowadays can take so many twists and turns that it can be really hard to decide on the best route. I decided to offer career coaching as I found through research that so many people seemed unhappy in their jobs.

Career coaching is a great tool to help people decide which work they want and help make it a reality. There are quite a few variables involved in creating a positive work life, so it can be helpful to have a neutral person to talk everything through with. This will help you gain clarity and decide on the way forward.

Here are some examples of how career coaching has helped my clients.

Simon

Simon was successful in his IT career, however he felt unfulfilled and had wanted to change career for over two years. He had many different ideas, but felt unable to make a decision and stick to it. Through coaching he was able to narrow down his ideas. He decided to become self employed.

Simon’s testimonial:

“I found Chloe to be an excellent coach – an attentive listener, responsive and astute. The coaching provided a degree of structure and context to my thinking which was extremely useful.”

David

David is a business man and inventor who suffers from chronic fatigue. Coaching helped him to re-gain his confidence and a sense of moving forward. With my support he started a new business that is flexible and developed strategies to maintain his health and wellbeing.

David’s testimonial:

“Chloe has a wonderful ability to listen and focus my scattered thinking, helping me be more realistic with time scales and completing my weekly set tasks. For me her coaching has been an integral part of my recovery from CFS/ME.”

Lisa

Lisa was working for a pharmaceutical company and no longer enjoyed her job. She had toyed with the idea of becoming a counsellor, but didn’t know where to start. Coaching gave her the confidence to research and decide on a part time training course. Coaching helped Lisa to make future plans upon completion of her training. Lisa also created a plan to make her current role more enjoyable whilst completing her course.

Lisa’s testimonial:

“Chloe was great at getting me to see what needed doing and encouraging me to take action.”
